Epcot Food & Wine Festival at Walt Disney World
We’ve all heard the saying that Disney is for kids. You may have even been told that personally as I know I have. Well, clearly whoever says that has never been to the Food & Wine Festival in Walt Disney World’s Epcot. With over 35 booths spread around the 11 countries in the World Showcase at Epcot, Food & Wine is a delightful culinary and spirits experience that you will not soon forget.
Every fall the World Showcase transforms itself into a celebration of culture and cuisine from the fastest corners of the globe that can perhaps only be rivaled by traveling to those corners yourself. Fortunately for you, Disney has decided to gather all this culinary art and fine spirits all in the same place.
In addition to foods and drinks from all over the world, Disney has put together a fine collection of seminars and demonstrations. Inside of Epcot’s Festival Center, you will be able to sit in on classic culinary demonstrations from some of the industries best. There are also beverage seminars and tastings in which you will learn all about pairings and just all that goes into your favorite drinks. Perhaps you like to host parties. If so enjoy a cheese seminar in which you will sample the worlds finest cheeses and hors-d’oeuvres as well learning excellent drink pairings.
Perhaps you are like me and have that special place in your heart for craft beer. If so I have the place for you. Just head over to the Craft Beer market pace. The line up changes from year to year but I have had some of the best craft beers I have ever tasted in here. One in particular that I hope one day returns is a Blueberry/Vanilla Ale. Yes, I am in complete understanding of how that sounds but trust me when I say it was amazing and I really look forward to the possible return.
Another favorite that is will also be going on throughout Food & Wine Festival is the ever popular, Eat to the Beat Concert series, which features popular bands from the 80’s, 90”s and even 2000’s. Last years line up included bands such as Starship, Everclear, .38 Special, Hanson, and Boys II Men just to name a few.
Originated in 1995 the Food & Wine Festival has brought together some of the worlds favorite eats from locations such as Africa, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Greece, Hawaii, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico (MARGARITAS!!!), Morocco, New Zealand, Poland, Scotland, Singapore, South Korea, as well as countless others. Each year we attend and instantly acquire a new favorite food or drink. One of my favorites ever was a frozen apple pie drink from Poland. It was literally like drinking apple pie of a cup. Last year the Mac and Cheeseburger “handwich” was the entree that stole the show for both Tiffany and I. But as we are headed back on an ADULTS ONLY trip in October (sorry kids 🙁 …) I am sure this year we will gain all new favorites as we do each year. Check out 2019’s lineup here.
