Disney Genie is here! Well, beginning on October 19th. We know you have been waiting for all of the information, and there is a ton of it! We haven’t put out much about the Disney Genie program up until this point because we wanted to make sure you had the most up to date and correct information. So let’s dive in!
What is the Disney Genie?
If you aren’t in the trenches of Disney Blogs and groups you may be wondering what is the Disney Genie? This is the brand new multi part program that is replacing the Disney FastPass program. You will have the opportunity to build the right program that works for you and your family with the help of your travel professional.
Parts to the Genie Program
- Base: Disney Genie: Complimentary
- Add On: Disney Genie+: $15 per person, per day
- Add On: Individual Attractions Selections: Pricing will Vary based on dates and attractions.
- Lightning Lane: This is just the entrance to the attraction you will use when utilizing either add ons above.
Now lets break it down and explain what each one is a little more.
Disney Genie
This free service will be offered to all guests with valid park tickets, and will offer a personalized day planner, tip board, wait times, virtual assistant, mobile order, virtual queues. No action is required to use Disney Genie. Standby lines will be available to all guests.

Disney Genie+
This will be an additional purchase that can be added onto your vacation package in advance for $15 per ticket, per day. You will also have the option to add it to individual days on site. To do that you will have to do it each day (beginning at midnight) the day you want to use it. Genie+ offers a next-available time to arrive at a variety of attractions using the Lightning Lane entrance – one at a time, throughout the day – to help you navigate through longer wait times. Lightning Lane will be offered at more than 40 attractions throughout all 4 theme parks. Guests may use Lightning Lane for one attraction at a time, no more than once per attraction, per day. If your time is much later in the day the app will let you know when you can make another selection.
Ways to use Disney Genie+
- Pre-purchase for your entire package through your travel agent
- Ride selections begin at 7:00am on your park day.
- Purchase individual days through the app, on the day you wish to use it. You may purchase beginning at 12:00am.
- Ride selections begin at 7:00am on your park day

Disney Genie Individual Attraction Selections
This will be an additional day-of purchase to help you skip the lines to some of the most popular headliner attractions, such as Rise of the Resistance, Flight of Passage, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and more. This will be limited to two selections per guest, per day. Pricing will vary by date, attraction and park.
– Individual Attraction Selections cost: Pricing will vary by date, attraction and park, ranging from approximately $7-15 per attraction per person. Pricing will be displayed before purchasing your Individual Attraction Selection. Keep in mind attractions may be limited.
Currently Individual Attraction Selections will be offered on the following attractions and is subject to change:
– Magic Kingdom: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain
– Hollywood Studios: Rise of the Resistance, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
– Animal Kingdom: Flight of Passage, Expedition Everest
– Epcot: Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Frozen Ever After
Individual attractions may be selected at 7:00am on the day you wish to use it.
Disney Genie, Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selections will be available for all guests starting on October 19, 2021. On this date, we will be able to add Genie+ to all existing vacation package reservations for $15 per person per day should you choose. Individual Attraction Selections will be available to purchase the day you are in the park.

* When can Genie+ be added to existing vacation packages? Our team will be able to add Genie+ onto all existing resort + ticket vacation packages beginning on October 19, 2021. We will prioritize all guests arriving with the earliest check-in date.
* If I add Genie+ to my vacation package, does it provide the service for all days I will be in the parks? Yes, for example if you have a 3-day park ticket and add Genie+ to your vacation package, you will have Genie+ for all 3 days you will be in the parks.
* Can I purchase Genie+ for partial days of my vacation? Yes, but not in advance. If Genie+ is not added to your vacation package for all days, guests will be responsible for purchasing Genie+ within the app each morning starting at 7am EST within the My Disney Experience app.
* What if I am arriving days before or during the launch on October 19? Guests arriving before or during the launch can purchase the Genie+ service each day of their vacation.
* Can Individual Attraction Selections be purchased prior to my check-in date? No, Individual Attraction Selections can only be added beginning at 7am EST the day you will be in the park.
* If I want to “skip the lines” at the parks, which do I need? You need Genie+, at a minimum, to skip lines at more than 40 attractions. If you’d like to skip the lines at the top headliner attractions, you will want to purchase Individual Attraction Selections at 7am each morning of your vacation via the My Disney Experience app.
* Can I still enjoy attractions without Genie+ or Individual Attraction Selections? Yes, standby lines and virtual queues will be offered without Genie+ or Individual Attraction Selections.
* Will Genie+ “sell out”? No, Genie+ will be available to any/all guests who would like to purchase the feature. Individual Rides may not have availability and Individual Attraction Selections may not have availability.
* Can I purchase Individual Attraction Selections without purchasing Disney Genie+? Yes. You do not need to purchase Genie+ in order to purchase Individual Attraction Selections.
* Can Individual Attraction Selections be made for more than one park? For example can one be for Magic Kingdom and the other Epcot? Yes, individual attractions selections can be made for more than one park. For example, you could purchase Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom and Frozen Ever After at EPCOT.
* Can Individual Attraction Selections be purchased in advance? No, Individual Attraction Selections will be available to purchase the day you are in the park.
* Is the 7 am start time for all guests, or only for those staying at Walt Disney World resorts? Guests with Disney Genie+ service can select their first lightning lane entrance beginning at 7 a.m. EST. Guests staying at Disney Resorts, Shades of Green® Resort on Walt Disney World® Resort, or the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels can purchase individual attraction selections on the day of their visit, starting at 7 a.m. ET. All other Walt Disney World® Resort Guests can purchase individual attraction selections on the day of their visit, starting at each Park’s opening time.
- Can I modify a Genie+ selection? Yes, you can cancel and rebook an available time/attraction.
- What time can I make my Genie+ selections? 7:00am EST the morning you are visiting a park.
- Can my Travel Agent make the Genie+ Selections for me at 7:00am EST? No, unfortunately Disney has set it up that you must be on Disney property to make your selections.
