Walt Disney World Park Closing Explained

Walt Disney World Park Closing Explained

Christmas and New Years is such a magical time to visit Walt Disney World, that is until you hear the rumors of parks closing and the crowds. I get it who wouldn’t want to spend Christmas in the most magical place on earth. As we look forward to 2019 and probably a pretty big crowd year, I want to take a moment to explain how the park closes, what a park closing actually means, and my recommendations for enjoying these peak times at the parks.

Everything is Better at Disney, Even Golf.

Everything is Better at Disney, Even Golf.

Everything is Better at Disney, Even Golf.

It’s a running tag line around my house that “everything is better at Disney”. And while we say it in a joking manner, we also acknowledge that the statement carries a lot of truth. Disney’s over-obsession with customer service and guest satisfaction pours into everything that they do and it shows. From the cast members, attractions, food and fireworks that we have all come to know and love, Disney knows how to put just the right amount of magic into everything. But it’s not just the typical that Disney magic applies to. Disney offers so many “outside the box” activities that will touch on at another time but today we are going to talk about one of my favorites. Golf.

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

When it comes to holidays everyone has their favorites, and Disney does them all. In fact, the holidays are usually peak times for Disney travel and for good reason. Walt Disney World seems to grab hold of the very essence of the Holiday and completely run with it. Halloween is no different. Growing up in south Louisiana this was always one of my favorite holidays, in part because fall meant cooler weather was on the way, but the rest I have to blame on my parents. Halloween was always the one holiday that they went all out. Decorations, candy, and costumes were just the start. Halloween night at our house was theatrics at its best. This was reason enough for Halloween to become one of my favorite holidays and one of my favorite times to go to Disney, for much of the same reason.

See You at Ohana!

See You at Ohana!

To any who know me it’s fairly obvious of where I rank good food on the hierarchy of important things. For those of you who don’t know me, well it’s pretty high up there. I love food. I can plan my entire week around good food. So it should come to no surprise that I am very big on Disney dining. It is one of my favorite things about planning our Disney trips (also the same as baseball stadiums but that’s another blog in itself.). I try to mix in my favorites while always trying to catch something new.

Disney Cruise Line, For the Entire Family

Disney Cruise Line, For the Entire Family

Often we are asked about cruises and met with the same reoccurring doubts and fears. “I don’t think I would like being on a boat that long”. “I’d go stir-crazy”. “Don’t you run out of stuff to do?” “No way I could get my husband on that”. “Is there a lot for kids to do?” Or the famous “my friend went on a cruise and they hated it”. All of which are legitimate fears and concerns because after all, you want your vacations to be “worth it”. And to me, cruises are totally worth it. In fact, I believe that cruises can be the best bang for your buck when it comes to travel. For what you get to see and do sometimes its hard to go wrong with at cruise but here is where all those questions come in.

Hidden Gems at Disney

Hidden Gems at Disney

Hidden right in front of your eyes may be some of Disney’s best-kept secrets. It’s one of the things I love and appreciate so much about it. It is easy to get lost in the grander that is Disney, but for me, it’s the small touches that are right there under your nose that the majority of people probably overlook. For instance, have you ever noticed the peanut shells in the concrete near Dumbo’s Circus? What about the 13 lanterns hanging in the Liberty Tree to represent the original 13 colonies. Or the approximate 320 animals that make up the tree of life. I am not even going to try to give an approximate number of hidden Mickey’s in the parks and resorts.
