More Walt Disney World Resort hotels are reopening. We have seen several open already and patiently, or not so patiently waited for the news of more openings. Well, we finally have an answer. By the end of this year, ALL Walt Disney World Resort hotels will be open.

Future reopening dates are subject to change and Guests’ reservations could still be modified to other Walt Disney Resort hotels if needed.

Top Things You Need To Know

Important updates at The Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Guests staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel must review the health acknowledgment below.

What You’ll Need
Before traveling to Florida, please make sure that you have reviewed any advisories or restrictions that may be in place for travel to Florida. Visit https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/travelers/ for information. Guests who are under isolation or quarantine orders must not enter Walt Disney World Resort.

Please be aware that you’ll also need:

  • A confirmed room reservation for your stay. Be sure to link your reservation to your Disney account to receive important information prior to your arrival—Your Wish Upon Afar Travel Professional can walk you through this process.
  • A confirmed dining reservation if you’re a day Guest (not staying overnight)
  • Face coverings for Guests—please check Know Before You Go or ask your Travel Professional for current face-covering requirements.
  • A MagicBand, Key to the World card or the My Disney Experience app—which you can use to unlock your Disney Resort hotel room and access more magic during your stay. View important updates about MagicBands for arrivals beginning January 1, 2021 below
  • All Guests, including Disney Resort hotel Guests, must have both valid park admission and a theme park reservation to enter one of the parks. Theme park reservations can be made with the Disney Park Pass system after you have purchased park admission. Availability of park reservations is limited, not guaranteed and subject to change.

Also, it’s highly recommended that you:

  • Have the latest version of the My Disney Experience app on your mobile device, with location services and notifications enabled
  • Use Online Check-In service and Direct-to-Room service, which allows you to get to the fun faster with real-time, room-ready updates—and even lets you use the My Disney Experience app as a digital room key at your Disney Resort hotel.
  • Use cashless or contactless forms of payment, including a MagicBand or Key to the World card, which Disney Resort hotel Guests can use to charge purchases to their Disney Resort hotel folio

An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. Health Acknowledgement

Please make sure that you have reviewed any advisories or restrictions that may be in place for travel to Florida. Visit https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/travelers/ for information. By entering Walt Disney World Resort, you are confirming that you and all persons in your party:

  • are not experiencing any of the following symptoms of COVID-19 identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at CDC.gov, including:
    • Fever or chills
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    • Fatigue
    • Muscle or body aches
    • Headache
    • New loss of taste or smell
    • Sore throat
    • Congestion or runny nose
    • Nausea or vomiting
    • Diarrhea
  • have not been in contact with someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 symptoms without completing a 14-day quarantine
  • are not under any self-quarantine orders

Guests who cannot confirm all of the above criteria must not enter Walt Disney World Resort. If at any point during their visit a Guest does not meet all of the above criteria, they and their traveling party will be required to isolate and may be relocated or asked to leave the property.

Disney Resort Hotel Guest Benefits

Some benefits may be modified or unavailable at this time.

Disney’s Magical Express® Service
Disney’s Magical Express Service provides transportation for Disney Resort hotel Guests between Orlando International Airport and their Disney Resort hotel via motorcoach. Reservations are required to use this service.

Disney’s Magical Express service will no longer be offered starting with arrivals on January 1, 2022. The service will continue to operate for new and existing reservations made at Disney Resort hotels for arrivals throughout 2021.

Luggage delivery for those arriving to and departing from the airport and Resort Airline Check-In Service are no longer available. Guests who choose to use Disney’s Magical Express service will be responsible for picking up any of their checked luggage from the airport’s baggage claim area, so that it can be loaded onto the motorcoach to their Disney Resort hotel. Please know that your luggage will travel with you to your Disney Resort hotel.

Luggage assistance will be available at the front of your Disney Resort hotel, including luggage storage and/or transport to the room.

Upon your departure, please ensure your luggage is with you and is loaded onto the motorcoach, so you can check it in with your airline once you reach the airport. The resort airline check-in service is no longer available.

Many airlines have modified their flight schedules, so please confirm your flight information. If you plan to use Disney’s Magical Express service, contact your travel agent to make any updates to your flight information on file.

FastPass+ Service
As a result of the COVID-19 impact on operations, the FastPass+ service is suspended for the time being. FastPass+ service is not offered with the purchase of tickets or annual passes. We will share future updates at a later date.

Extra Magic Hours
The Extra Magic Hours benefit was suspended when Walt Disney World Resort reopened last summer, and as we continue to manage attendance with health and safety top of mind, Extra Magic Hours will not return.

Cleanliness and Sanitation

When you stay at a Disney Resort hotel, enjoy peace of mind knowing that your room will be thoroughly cleaned prior to your arrival and serviced during your stay.

Common Areas
Common areas will be maintained following our high standards for cleanliness and sanitation.

Housekeeping
Prior to your arrival, your room will undergo thorough cleaning—with attention to:

  • High-touch areas, like TV remotes and door handles
  • Housekeeping tools will be cleaned between rooms
  • Floors, which will be steam cleaned and vacuumed between Guests

Inside your room, you’ll find:

  • Individually wrapped glassware
  • Additional items that have been cleaned, sealed or wrapped in single-use packaging

And during your stay, your room will receive a light cleaning service every other day, which will include:

  • Removal of trash and used towels
  • Replenishment of towels and amenities throughout the room and bathroom
  • Wiping and cleaning of the vanity and counter surfaces
  • Vacuuming if needed

You can also decline every-other-day service.

Please note that:

  • If there is more than one room on your reservation and you choose to decline service, your selection will apply to all rooms on the reservation.
  • We reserve the right to enter any room at a Disney Resort hotel for maintenance, safety, security or any other purpose, even if the Room Occupied sign is displayed on the room door.

Complimentary Resort Transportation
To promote the health and well-being of Guests and Cast Members:

  • Transportation is operating with reduced capacity within buses and monorails.
  • Face coverings are required at all times for all Guests while boarding Disney buses, monorails and Disney Skyliner.

Minnie Van Service
Minnie Van Service is unavailable.

Parking at Disney Resort Hotels
Self-parking is available. Valet service continues to be available for Guests with disabilities who may require parking assistance. A valid disability parking permit is required. Valet service has been reintroduced to hotels. Upon your arrival, please check with the Security Host for parking options. Parking fees apply for Disney Resort hotel Guests.

Complimentary Theme Park Parking for Disney Resort Hotel Guests
Disney Resort hotel Guests receive complimentary parking at the Walt Disney World theme parks. Consider parking at EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park for another convenient way to access the parks, especially during park opening hours.

Resort Services

Some Disney Resort hotel services are currently modified or unavailable.

Changes include:

  • Bell Services will deliver luggage to rooms, but will not escort Guests
  • Club-Level Lounges are being reintroduced to select Disney Resort hotels over the coming months. For more information, please contact your Travel Professional.
  • Deliveries may only be made to occupied rooms
  • In-room celebrations are not available
  • Private dining is only available at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.
  • Dry-cleaning and valet laundry services are unavailable; self-service laundry is available
  • Shipping services are unavailable

In addition, the resort airline check-in service is no longer available.

MagicBands & Key to the World Cards

MagicBands will no longer be provided on a complimentary basis for new reservations with arrivals at Disney Resort hotels January 1, 2021 and beyond.

  • Want to use a MagicBand? You can purchase a MagicBand online and at select merchandise locations at Walt Disney World Resort. Guests will have the option to purchase MagicBands up to 6 days before arrival at special pre-arrival prices. These MagicBands can be personalized with different colors, Disney Characters and themes—and can even be customized with your name.
  • Already have a MagicBand from a previous visit? You can reuse your MagicBand. Depending on how much time has passed since you initially used your MagicBand, your ability to receive Disney PhotoPass attraction videos and select attraction photos may be limited.If you are using a MagicBand from a previous visit, we recommend you tap it at the photo preview wall touchpoints (available at select attractions after riding) to link your attraction photos to your Disney account. For attractions that do not have a photo preview wall you may also visit the Disney PhotoPass Sales Center located in each park or contact Disney PhotoPass Service so we can find and link your attraction photos.
  • Interested in other options? Use the Disney MagicMobile service and the My Disney Experience app to enter the park using a smart device (valid theme park admission and Park Pass reservation required). In the future, Disney Resort hotel Guests will also be able to use the Disney MagicMobile service to charge back to their resort folio. You can also use the My Disney Experience app to unlock your Resort room door.
  • Prefer not to use a MagicBand? At your convenience, swing by the Front Desk of your Disney Resort hotel to pick up a Key to the World card, which can be used in lieu of a MagicBand.
  • Want to skip check-in and go straight to your room? Use convenient Online Check-In service and Direct-to-Room service, which allows you to get to the fun faster with real-time, room-ready updates—and even lets you use the My Disney Experience app as a digital room key at your Disney Resort hotel.
Dining Experiences

Select dining locations are available at Disney Resort hotels.

All Guests may now make dining reservations up to 60 days in advance. Here are some important details to help you plan:

Disney Resort Hotel Dining
Planning to dine at a table-service restaurant in a Disney Resort hotel? A confirmed dining reservation is required for day Guests (those not staying overnight) and is highly recommended for Guests staying overnight at a Disney Resort hotel.

In-Park Dining
Guests must have valid park admission and a reservation for park entry through the new Disney Park Pass system—as well as a dining reservation—to dine at in-park, table-service restaurants. Dining reservations do not guarantee admission to the park.

Disney Springs Dining
Select dining locations at Disney Springs are currently accepting reservations for all Guests up to 60 days in advance. Check availability and make reservations online now.

Mobile Order Service
A time-saving feature of the My Disney Experience app, mobile order service enables you to order ahead at select dining locations and pick up food during a designated arrival window.

Resort Amenities & Recreation

Available Recreation
Activities and schedules vary. The schedule of activities for your Disney Resort hotel will be shared during your stay.

Pools

  • Feature pools may operate with reduced hours; leisure pools are open 24 hours a day
  • Pools are operating with reduced capacity and mobile waitlists may be used, giving Guests the option to receive an alert and return when space is available
  • Select poolside activities may be available at select Resort hotels

Fitness Centers & Sports Courts

  • Fitness centers may have reduced hours and capacity
  • Instructor-led fitness classes are not available
  • Fitness and sports courts are open

Merchandise Locations
In merchandise locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort, Guests may continue to discover favorite Disney items, with some modifications to the shopping experience.

  • Pin Trading: We continue to offer Guests the opportunity to pin trade with Cast Members through the use of pin boards in select locations. Cast pin trading with lanyards is not available at this time.
  • Delivery Option: Package delivery to the front of our theme parks or to Disney Resort hotels is suspended. However, shipping merchandise to Guests’ homes continues to be available.

Unavailable Experiences
The following amenities and experiences are not available at this time:

  • Arcades
  • Campfires
  • Character experiences
  • Marina rentals
  • Spas, salons and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique

Additionally, the following special offerings are not available at this time:

  • Fireworks voyages and tasting cruises, including the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage
  • Fun runs
  • Wonderland Tea Party at Park Fare
  • Hula lessons
  • Mermaid school
  • Special classes and programs—including culinary, cultural and animal programs
Check In Online

We strongly recommend that you use Online Check-In Service prior to your stay.

At Walt Disney World Resort
When staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you can check in online or with the My Disney Experience app.

When your room is ready, you’ll get a room-ready notification. Then, you can use either a MagicBand or the My Disney Experience app digital key feature to enter your room!

If you don’t receive your MagicBand(s) prior to your vacation, simply use the My Disney Experience app as a digital key to enter your room. At your convenience, you can visit the Front Desk to pick up your MagicBand(s).
